TACOS TACOS TACOS! WHO LOVES TACOS? I LOVE TACOS!
What’s there not to love? Due to my strong love for tacos naturally I ended up at one of the best Mexican restaurants I have ever been to, of course in NYC. It goes by Dos Caminos, and if any of you have been there you know what I mean when I say, it’s just a crazy fiesta!
Let’s talk about the guac for a second… well I can’t, I have no words because it was the best I have ever has. It was thick but smooth and full of flavor. I must have had half of the bowl…my table wasn’t happy about that. But let’s not forget about the sangria, OUUUUUUUU! Well from what I remember it was delicious, considering I couldn’t stop drinking it! Esteban’s blend of fruits macerated in wine and Spanish brandy was definitely a crowd pleaser. The variety of tequila was overwhelming…and I don’t even drink tequila! The options are endless which is why I would recommend this place to anyone I know!
For my main, I got fish tacos, obviously! Baja fish in a classic warm hand-made tortilla topped off with rock shrimp, sriracha aioli and bacon guacamole that was KILLER!
While devouring my fish tacos, the upbeat music made me want to get out of my seat and start a conga line. Although I refrained from doing so, I was pretty close. I mean I also didn’t want to show off I front of everyone in the restaurant, my dance moves are quite impressive…(but don’t ask my boyfriend). The decorations and the atmosphere made us feel like we were in the most authentic Mexican restaurant in the heart of Mexico, it was way too much fun! It was loud inside, but that was understandable because it was a FIESTA! The service was also great. Servers were full of energy, got our orders right and brought them out in record time. It was also such a beautiful night, we could have sat on the patio, which was fun yet inviting, but I was there for the party and that is exactly what I got!
From all the sangria I drank, naturally I had to use the ladies room. As I was walking down the stairs to my right was the real party! There was a club in the restaurant on the lower level that looked jumpin’! Could this place get any better? I don’t think so! The music was blaring, the lights were going wild and the dance floor was bringing the heat!!!
Considering it was memorial day weekend, the club was full of men in white suits and this alone was quite intriguing. The only reason I didn’t go near them was because I knew my drink would end up all over them by the end of the night, and I liked it too much to let that happen. Plus that wouldn’t be a fun stain to take out!
